Scripture for the day:  Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

We are in the midst of a battle.  It is squirrels vs. us, and it is ongoing.  Squirrels are amazing in their persistence, and they are also quite acrobatic.  We have two shepherd’s hooks in our yard with feeders on them.  The squirrels have tried every possible way to get to the feeders, ignoring, for the most part, all the food on the ground.  Elevated food must just taste better.  We have seen them jump 3-4’ straight up, launch themselves 3-4’ from the deck railing, climb the pole that had been greased or waxed or something.  If they failed, they simply tried again.

Diligence.  We don’t appreciate it or reward it (if at all possible), but God does.  Diligence is sometimes defined as thinking something good will happen despite evidence to the contrary.  Our squirrels live this definition!  May I be like a squirrel in my faith today and never give up, never tire, never quit.   May I just keep coming, from all angles, with renewed determination and zeal.

Song for the day:  “The Voice of Truth” by Casting Crowns

But the voice of truth tells me a different story

And the voice of truth says “Do not be afraid!”

And the voice of truth says “This is for My glory”

Out of all the voices calling out to me

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Great illustration from the Funny Farm.

Liz is going all day today to make up some of her hours. Pray for her stamina. She did well on Monday, so I’m hopeful. Beka is home sick…that’s unusual. She has a big project due tomorrow, so she’s hoping to sleep till noon, wake up feeling better and tackle her homework. Abby & David have their last day at Cornerstone, and they need to do a little Understanding the Times (test on Monday).

I have one of those highly choreographed days, where I have to remember where I need to be and what I need to be doing at rapid pace. I can tell it’s the Christmas season. 🙂

Love you! Hope your day goes well! Angie

Cute post. Oh what we can learn from the smallest of God’s creatures . . . how often do we give up and not remain diligent? As Edison commented once, “He didn’t fail, he just learned 2,000 other ways not to create a lightbulb.” We should keep pressing on and with God’s help, strive toward our goal!

So true, Ellie. Having the diligence of a little squirrel is awesome! I can only hope. May He bless your day. Thanks for stopping by. Connie
