God’s Light

Scripture for the day:  Ps 19:7-13  “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.  More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.  Moreover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward.  Who can understand his errors?  Cleanse me from secret faults.  Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me.  Then I shall be blameless, and I shall be innocent of great transgression.”

The law of the Lord is perfect and will make us wise, bring us enlightenment and joy.  God’s Word is sweet and more precious than gold.  How will we deal with our faults?  What about the sin in our life, both recognized and unrecognized?  How do we face our sins and deal with them?  It is only when the light of God’s perfect Lamb shines into our lives and illuminates all the dark places that we can see.  Only then will we come face to face with our sin and confess it before Almighty God.  At that point, sin loses its control over us.  Through God’s grace and the cleansing blood of His Son, we can become blameless in His sight.  Our sins can be forgiven and we can be free.  Praise God!

Song for the day:  “Out of My Bondage, Sorrow and Night”

No matter how many or how great our sins, we can come into His freedom, gladness and light!  “Out of my sin and into thyself, Jesus, I come to Thee.”
